Your unit below is wrapped in a plastic bag and if you pull too fast, you&apos;ll create a suction of air that can break the top of your Styrofoam piece.Next, to pull your heater out, reach in with both of your hands on both sides and you&apos;ll feel the carrying handles. Just grab it and lift straight up.Pull the main plastic bag off your unit and place them inside your box for future storage should you need them. We strongly recommend keeping your packaging for any off season storage or for transportation needs. You want to make sure to keep your box and the two inserts in a safe and dry place.Next, your heater comes with a six-foot cord. It has a Velcro Strap so you can easily wind it up for summer storage.Plug the power cord directly into an unused 110-Volt 15-Amp grounded plug.Press the power button on the control panel or on your remote control to activate your heating system. To turn off your heating system. Press the power button again. Now note, the fan will continue to run until all of the heat has been expelled.Now let&apos;s talk about the display settings.This heater is equipped with three temperature scale settings, 1 through 20 Fahrenheit and Celsius.To change between the scales. Hold down the quiet button for 3 seconds until it beeps and a display flashes. Then release the quiet button, pressing the timer button, then it will switch between the different scales. Pressing the quiet button again or waiting for 5 seconds will set the selected scale.Now we recommend for most of our customers to use the 1 through 20 setting.Now let me show you how easy it is to use the auto off and on timer. When would you use this? A great example is setting your heater before you leave in the morning to turn on a couple of hours before you get home from work or the kids get home from school. Let&apos;s start with having your heater automatically turn on when it&apos;s off.With the heater off, press the timer button to select the number of hours you want the heater to wait until it powers on. You can select between 1 and 12 hours. The heating system will power on to the last heat setting that it was operated at.Now let&apos;s see how easy it is to set your heating system to automatically turn off.With the heating system on, press the timer button to select the number of hours you want the heater to operate until it turns off. You can also select between 1 and 12 hours. This is a great feature to use before bed. We personally don&apos;t heat load our bedroom until it&apos;s time to go to bed. I push the one-hour timer button and then I set the heater inside of our bedroom while getting ready for bed. It provides the perfect amount of heat for us while we sleep.Now, to disengage the timer button completely, simply press the power button or press the timer button until the time is no longer indicated on the display.Last but not least, let&apos;s talk about the quiet mode power saving setting.Any time your heater is running, press the quiet button and your heater will reduce down to 900 watts and your already quiet fan will run even quieter. This feature is great for watching TV or resting.Now to care for your cabinet, just simply wipe it with a clean, soft, damp cloth. </style>Your Unique Heat personal heating system comes equipped with an easy-to-access washable lifetime filter on the rear of your unit.To clean the filter:&#xA0;<ul><li>unscrew the knob located at the bottom of the filter to release the filter cover and pull it straight out.&#xA0;</li><li>Run warm tap water over the filter in the opposite direction of airflow until the water runs clear.</li><li>The filter might excrete some filtered residue, so be cautious not to drip on any stainable surface, such as carpeting.</li><li>You can also soak the filter in warm water mixed with a small amount of mild detergent soap.</li><li>But don&apos;t forget to rinse the water after soaking the filter.</li><li>Shake the filter over the sink until excess water is removed and allow it to drip dry completely before reinstalling.</li><li>Do not force the filter to dry using any alternative methods because this could result in damaging your filter.</li><li>Reinstall the filter to the rear of the unit by positioning the filter back in place and returning the screw to its original position.</li></ul>The air filter that comes with your heater never needs to be replaced, only cleaned. An example of this would be right next to the back door of your house where everyone&apos;s coming in and going out.&#xA0;Next, try placing the heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output of the heater towards an outside cooler wall. The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generating heat towards itself, which will allow for a more effective heating.AVOID COLD AIR RETURNSNext, placing your heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from the area that needs to be heated. Try keeping your heater away from a cold air return. This will allow for a more effective heating. Now, don&apos;t be afraid to experiment with your heater to see what works best for you.&#xA0;HUMIDITYNow to ensure maximum efficiency, a 40% humidity should be maintained in your heated environment.&#xA0;HEATING ON CONCRETENext, in rooms with large areas of bare concrete, try placing the heater a few feet above the floor. Make sure the heater is secure and it won&apos;t fall. This will allow for more efficient heating since concrete acts as a heat sink and it will draw the heat in that direction.ZONE HEATINGTry setting your central heating system to a lower temperature and then placing the heater in the area you spend the majority of your time. Now set your Unique Heat to your comfort level, after all, there&apos;s no point in heating multiple rooms above 68 degrees when there&apos;s no one using them.LARGE ROOM HEATINGWhen heating larger areas, place the heater in a central location. If a ceiling fan is nearby, try using it at the same time to help distribute the heat evenly. Now these are just suggestions. Now, this is going to sound official because I&apos;m reading it directly out of the manual.Any improper use of this heater can result in the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Unauthorized Service</li></ul>First, any required service other than filter maintenance should only be performed by an authorized Unique Heat service representative. Any repairs attempted by anyone other than that will void your warranty.&#xA0;<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Front Grill</li></ul>The heater grill in front of your heater will get hot. To avoid burns, do not let your bare skin touch the hot surface.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Combustible Materials</li></ul>Always keep combustible materials, such as pillows, bedding, papers, curtains or anything else at least three feet from the front of your heater, and keep them away from the sides and the rear of your unit as well.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Unattended Operation</li></ul>Extreme caution is necessary whenever it&apos;s operated around children or whenever it&apos;s left unattended in operating.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Damage or Malfunction</li></ul>Do not ever operate your heater with a damaged plug after the heater malfunctions or after it&apos;s been dropped or damaged in any manner. In these cases, contact support@uniqueheat.com and let our customer care representative know what&apos;s happened.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Do not use in the Following Environment</li></ul>Do not use your heater outdoors or on a construction site. The heater is also not intended to be used in bathrooms, laundry areas, or any location with standing water, shower or a swimming pool. Next, never place your heater where it may fall into a bathtub or water container.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Power Cord Placement</li></ul>Now, do not run the power cord under carpeting. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas and where it won&apos;t be tripped over.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Power Strips, Extension Cords, Air Fresheners, Surge Protectors</li></ul>Now, do not plug your heater into any power cord. Do not plug it into any surge protector, any power surge device, any kind of multiple outlet adapter, or any of those air fresh plugs. To disconnect the heater, power the unit off, then remove the plug from the outlet.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Plugging in &amp; Unplugging</li></ul>Only plug it into a three prong 110-volt/15-amp outlet or higher grounded plug.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Foreign Objects</li></ul>Do not insert or allow any foreign objects to enter into the ventilation or exhaust openings, as this can cause an electric shower of fire or it can damage your heater.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Do not Block Exhaust or Air Intakes</li></ul>Now to prevent the risk of fire, do not block any air intakes or exhaust at any manner.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Soft Surfaces</li></ul>Do not use your personal heating system on soft surfaces like a bed where openings may be blocked by blankets.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Filter Maintenance</li></ul>As mentioned in a previous video, when performing filter maintenance, do not force the filter to dry using alternative methods because doing so can damage your filter.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Flammable Liquids</li></ul>All personal heating systems, including this one, has hot or arcing, sparking parts inside, do not ever operate where and around flammable substances such as gasoline, paint, or any other flammable liquids. And don&apos;t use or store your unit in the area as well.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Loose Plug Outlets</li></ul>Now this is very important. Do not plug your heater into a loose fitting or broken receptacle.<ul><li>Warning &#x2013; Design Alteration &amp; Mis-use</li></ul>Do not alter the heaters design in any way or you&apos;re voiding the warranty.
